Baller 😂 76' C10 Cheap Toy

Damn things ain’t cheap, but they sure are nice. I went with the electric because I didn’t want to get a co2 bottle.
Are you running a 3 speed? I thought I wanted electric too but the only one for my current Hurst shifter requires me to grind off a stop on the gate and I still saw people saying it wasn't working great. Back in the 90s we had air on our glide and it wasn't to bad. Motion doesn't offer a electric in the one I was looking at in the drop down. Maybe I would call them IF I get ballsy and decide to order one. I did collect on a few jobs I wasn't expecting but not enough to cover the entire cost.

Ahh, I’m running a glide. I didn’t realize they didn’t offer the electric for the 3 speed.

Why not buy an m&m shifter instead?

Or if you're nuts drop, a long shifter

Why not buy an m&m shifter instead?

Or if you're nuts drop, a long shifter
Motion Raceworks $825.00 CO2 Shifter Kit $322.00 Total $1147.00 free shipping
M&M Transmission $925.00 CO2 Air Shift Kit $300.00 Total $1225.00 plus shipping

They look very similar one takes another $100 figure a damn grand to do what I did for years with my hand either one should wipe my ass and get me 72 virgins.

So I just leaned to save a fraction of my last $200 in savings. 😩 And probably wont need the CO2 kit we have access to most if not everything I would need.

Not sure about the "Long shifter" I tried to look it up. I just saw sticks for those guys who like to get a leg and arm workout while driving. :p Nothing for us rookies who just want to steer and mash the go peddle! We need our training wheels. :ROFLMAO:

Custom window net and hopefully the correct brake line pieces I needed came in today. Been too busy working to pick up my truck. Worked out he can put the window net in now before I get it. I was just going to get the truck and take it back after I had it wired up but now I should only need to take it back to scale it and put a baseline setup to start with in it.

Is this thing running yet? 😄

No :(

I wish these people would quit passing away. I haven't had but 2 days off since I picked it up and unfortunately I had family get together on one of those. Its been windy as hell and storms so work has worn me down. I am getting excited about making noise though. I would have probably cranked it up this weekend but they have already wrecked my Friday and Sat. with more funerals.

I have worked on it whenever I get home early and have done some stuff. I got the parachute handle and cable installed. I got the passenger seat back in and the harness for it installed. Finished the rear brake lines. Just need to bleed brakes and they are done. I have some of the wiring ran but only have the ignition box and starter wired up. I finished the cooling plumbing but need one more -16 fitting so I can shorten one of my lines.

Wiring the water pump and lights should be pretty easy. I think the worst left to do is wiring all the gauges, and installing a O2 sensor and EGT bungs will probably take a minute.

One thing I am on the fence with is my stupid shifter. Its a front exit and therefore I have to put the cable through my new carpet in view and the cable just doesn't look nice like that. Once I put that hole I cant take it back. A rear exit cable shifter would be so much cleaner looking and give me the option to have it air shifted if I need that feature. I had tried to forget about the shifter change but they keep leaving them on sale! :pissed:

Just a small update.

Work this time of year has been killer. Its been raining quite a bit and windy as hell so its muddy and trying to hold a 20ft tent up with slop to hold tent stakes, its not been good. I fight to get the tractor in the cemetery then fight to get a hole in the ground that isn't filling with water, caving in, or both. Then try and turn the tractor around in the same mess you made getting in to dig so you can back fill the grave. Then fight like hell to get out after making the place into what looks like a cattle pen in the winter. And you doing all this in the middle of all these other stones and graves that want to cave in because they are soft and I have a tractor on top of them. We use plywood to walk the tractor on 8ft at a time but once they get water logged and covered with mud they weigh a lot. So I am usually a muddy mess and beat down when I get home.

I have been doing a little wiring though. Starter, ignition, the switch panel, water pump, master disconnect, and fuel pump are all wired up. I did go to check each one and found for some reason my fuel pump isn't getting a signal to turn on from the switch. I have to investigate that more. Still have the lights, all the normal gauges, EGTs, AFR, TPS, and hopefully a drive shaft sensor to wire. I'm not a great hotrod builder I try and make a safe and decent working system that more often than not ends up looking like spaghetti wiring. o_O

I know its been a minute, I have been working digging holes. So no I haven't made much progress. I spent a few hours yesterday doing more wiring. I am very slow and usually hate my wiring jobs. This one is turning out like normal so I am trying to get the shit to look a little better but not having much luck. I'm about to say F it and just wire it up and call it a day. The good news is I haven't missed but 1 weekend the track was open. We have been getting rained out repeatedly. No pictures of the truck progress its embarrassing in its current state.

I'm still debating a shifter change. @Mr. Hipster I believe he mentioned Precision Performance. I have been checking out the Power Shift Air Shifter they offer and think they look nice. I did read that it usually takes a few months to get one I think he is a one man team. Anyone care to comment on these shifters? I think the solenoid underneath sort of hidden is a nice feature and the built in reverse feature for the tbrake. I also like the Motion Raceworks one as well. The M&M is nice also but I think I like these other two a little better.

I emailed Precision and he responded with they are out of the CO2 bottles and brackets but he was only a couple weeks behind. So that wasnt bad I can get a bottle and bracket elsewhere or use them screw hose brackets us poor folks use. :p :ROFLMAO:

no sales kink yet 🤷‍♂️ they had a prototype in october. no production yet I guess

Thank you for the update.

Its shiny. :larf: That appears on the outside to be a very spiffed up, updated copy of the Precision. Maybe it has some serious different insides?

This shifter boom has me thinking about fishing lures. Most are just honed in on what one guy has built and it has come to be the favored basic design. Everything after that is just another vision of the same thing.

same shifter for any combo change the plates

I know I have not been updating this. No worries you guys haven't missed anything. Between work and other activities I just haven't done anything.

My RCI fuel cell turned out to be a POS and wouldn't stop leaking. I only tried about 3 times to stop it and said F it. I got a new aluminum tank and I like the design better for my use anyway. It is wider and will gravity feed my pump better. I'm having a larger outlet bung installed and then I will install it.

Finally ordered that Motion Raceworks shifter today. With measurements and some studying the Motion design worked better for the placement in my truck. Having the cylinder off the back wasn't as appealing looking to me as the Precision Shifter. But the Precision mounting wasn't going to work out with how I wanted it mounted in the truck. Got it with a little discount still $812 at my door and still need to order the CO2 kit for the tank, valve, lines etc. This stuff is so expensive these days.

8 hundo? damn Baller! 😃 been waiting on a motor for a year, shits expensive and a serious time suck
Yeah motors can be a huge time and money drain. I count my blessings we are on such good terms with our machine shop for our racing stuff he takes very good care of us.

Yeah ya saw I didn't order the CO2 kit though I'm a broke ass I will have to get that shit piece by piece. :ROFLMAO:

Anyone know why they are using those bigger 2.5lb bottles vs the 10oz ones we use to use?
