Baller 😂 76' C10 Cheap Toy

No need for a vacuum pump no power gain for the $$$, Make sure the tank cant puke out onto headers and dump oil on the rear tires

mine are in shitty spot ive learned running with higher valley pressure. Its misted the headers and frame rail. if I nuked it, definitely possible to oil the rear tires, the 2qt catch can on each bank wont be holding the 10qts in the motor

Streeter/ racecars wont be pushing their shit or sending em down hurt so the odds of nuking it are or should be nill 😀
I agree . Mine isn’t over the header and not in line with the rear tire. But its also not big enough to hold a catastrophic dump. And if that were to happen I doubt moving it over any direction would prevent the possibility of it doing either or both.
I went with the bigger breathers -12 lines in hopes of it holding very little pressure. If I get anything like 5lbs something is broke / not sealing. I have no real numbers on boost yet but everything points to 25lbs is likely the most Ill see.
I’m starting out easy with it and going to be monitoring everything as I work my way into a full throttle run. I don’t expect anything to make it into the tank possibly a little over time I suppose from the normal breathing.
So all things considered I think I'm playing in a fairly proven range rpm, boost, and power wise. So it should be a pretty solid build. I’m not planning to push it at least not for a good bit as I will be tuning and working suspension settings and getting seat time. All of which are fun  Thanks for the information I appreciate everyones contribution.

Starts shopping for a 8 to 10 quart oil tank for a catch can. :ROFLMAO:

Chute and a small bracket came in today. Been to busy working to touch the truck though.

The mount for the pack and the anchor mount kit are somewhere headed to me I hope. 😂
If I do a gear swap and run the 1/4 mile next year I might need one of those. Mo money, mo money, mo money. 😑

5lbs no oil on the plug 😃 I wont mention cold leak down #s

Any updates Steve?
Yeah I am failing at getting this shit moving. Another year has passed and it still has not seemed to progress to where it should be. On the bright side I have been getting more stuff for it.
  • Competition Engineering C3450 Parachute Anchor Mount
  • Chassis Engineering 7602 Parachute Pack Mount
  • Motion Raceworks Billet Parachute Handle Release Lever & Cable Mount Kit 14-020
  • S&W Performance Group SKU: 75-150-01 Parachute Handle Floor Mount
Believe it or not I was at a fab shop today wheeling and dealing. I have a new Waterman fuel pump he needs for his mechanical injection for his car. So we are bartering. ;) I think I have secured a guy to do all the parachute mount. And scale the truck putting a base setup in it. I'm planning to put the handle for the parachute in the floor near the shifter but buying this Motion Raceworks handle gives me to option of over head mounting to the cage if I so desire. I will be having the midplate frame brackets/mounts welded in also.

This is working out pretty good as my brother works at this fab shop a day or two each week when he isn't busy on his own job. So I have him keeping a watchful eye on what is done and how its done. This is not the normal fab guy who did my cage who does excellent work. He stays so loaded up its really hard to get on a schedule anytime fairly quick. Usually its months to wait and you cant deviate from what you put down you want done. In other words if I decided I wanted the window net added I have to go back to the end of the line and wait months again. Not that way at this guys shop for now. Its getting that way he is starting to get like the other guy so busy. He said last week of January so I have about three weeks to get some more done before he gets it.

My goal is to be finished wiring and plumbing it all by the time it goes to his shop. Lets see how bad the weather gets and how busy I get at work.

Truck was taken to fab shop today.
The list of items to install/complete are:
  • Funkhouser Anti Roll Bar
  • Parachute Pack Mount and Anchor
  • Diagonal Link
  • Midplate frame side of mounts
  • Install brake calipers on rear
  • Window net
  • Tab for passenger harness to bolt to
I think that's all. Anyway just thought id update since I seemed to have stalled a little while with holidays and then the cold along with work. Dammit sounds like excuses. Stay tuned 2025 may be the year this heap moves under its own power. Shocking thought I know.:lmao:

That list should double along the price before you get it back 😃
I feel sorry for him if it does. ;)

We already made a deal bartering his labor for a new Waterman fuel pump and accessories, and another parachute mount kit I bought and never used. Hes gonna be in a tough spot trying to get cash I'm poooooor. :larf:

(y) (y) (y) Keep the posts coming.

I picked up a 87 C10 a few months ago but time to work on it is split with the 93 C1500 I have.
It was owned by the guy who ran the junkyard I worked back in the early 90's, 30 years later I got my hands on it.

Dating myself here, I bought a 1500 shortbed new in 87. Dark blue rally wheels a nice truck ...wish i still had it too.

Brief update In case anyone was wondering.
All the fitting planning measuring cutting mocking up, and tack welds are done on the ARB. The guys just had to finish welding up everything on the ARB. They also started fitting the brackets for my rear disc calipers. No pics yet but I think its coming along good from what I saw the other day. Its coming together.

Got a couple pics today. Still have the parachute stuff to do, the midplate mounts on the frame, and the bracket for my remote mount water pump. I'm waiting on the window net till I get the net here. I hate the way they look when they are floppy loose.

Some stuff that is finished.
  • ARB
  • Drag Link
  • Brackets for rear brakes
  • Seat belt tab for passenger harness

So far he has finished the mid plate mounts on the frame. Also mounted the Meziere HD Billet Electric Water Pump on the frame. And has started on the Parachute mount. We did sort of work out the mounting points for the window net but the custom Stroud net takes a little bit to get. They said end of March about a week go. I want a nice fit so we are holding off on it till we have the net in hand.

Got a 4" aluminum driveshaft made today. Its a 0.125 wall with Sonnax forged weld yokes with Spicer 5-1350X U-Joints. I had already bought the Strange Severe Duty Chrome Moly 1350 Transmission Yoke. This hopefully will fit nicely in the Strange Chrome Moly 1350 Series Yoke using the Strange Billet U-Joint Caps I bought for the rear end. Will see in the morning how bad I fd up this measurement.
