Baller 😂 76' C10 Cheap Toy

Will this beast hit the track before the year’s end?
Beast? :ROFLMAO:

I'm hoping within a month or so to try some testing. I don't want to get ahead of myself but its getting very close. The driveshaft was the last single big purchase to get it going I just hope its correct. Obviously it wont be painted but I am ok with a lack of paint.

Still need wiring done but I have everything to finish. Some plumbing I might need a fitting but I think I have everything unless I have misplaced something. Other than those two Items I just need decent weather and free time.

Still thinking a nice set of stainless zoomies is in my future.🤑🤑🤑

Yeah, I wish I had the funds to paint my shitbox, but it ain’t going to keep me from running it. 😆

For the most part, anything is a beast to me, but 496 with a blower? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Even when mine is painted I'm sure it will be laughed at. I am to cheap to pay a good shop to do it so guess who is :ROFLMAO:

Well the parachute mount is pretty much finished. The height is still going to be adjusted. The post hasn't been trimmed down at all. Its simple since it just pins on I will just cut what I want off and drill a new hole for the pin.

He started on the brake lines but my dumbass apparently ordered the incorrect ones or they sent the wrong ones when I ordered them over a year ago. So now I am looking at brake lines to order. 🫣

What a contraption we have here. 🤣🤣🤣

Well he was still working on it and sent me a few pics of brake lines on the rearend. Also welded up the holes where the drip rails attached, and the fender badge holes. Said he would finish the master cylinder and front brake lines before lunch tomorrow.

That's coming out really nice Steve. The part that I was bums me out about nice fabrication work is then I feel the need to step up all those surrounding parts so there's nothing distracting from the nice Fab work. Vicious circle I tell you

I know its crazy how that works. The good looking stuff always highlights the not so good looking stuff. Constantly trying to get the best I can reasonably afford and looks decent. All the while just making the last parts or work not as nice looking.
Prime example was originally I bought a wishbone kit and we installed it. I have since paid to remove it and have the diagonal bar installed. So much cleaner looking and easily 1/2 the weight. There have been numerous items on this truck I have upgraded and never used the original piece.🤦🏻‍♂️ Steering wheel, switch panel, and shifter are a few that come to mind. That isn’t counting the entire decision to sell off the nitrous BBC and Powerglide combo to start over with the ProCharger. 🤪😂 Sounds a little like a guy who was doing a ProCharger and ended up turbo. But Im not calling out names. 😂😂😂

Looking at the nice welds on the axle tube and I zoomed in on the last pic and noticed the ARB wasn’t welded all the way around. Was that on purpose or were they just not finished when the pic was taken?

I have no idea but I just asked him what the deal was. I think that should have ben finished by the time that pic was taken. Thanks for pointing it out. I dont think its going anywhere but it sure looks bad partially welded.

Well, better to catch stuff while it’s still there. Glad I could help. 😆

I'm quoting the guys response.
That's just a inner washer it just keeps it in like side to side. Its not load bearing I didn't feel it needed more than a couple one inch welds. It has the same size bead on the other side you cant see in the pic.
I sort of can see his point it will ever go anywhere unless I wreck it. They aren't really structural. The ARB is captured on the outside of each bearing so really its a over rated shield for the bearing. But by the same token it probably would have been better to just fully weld it and leave all doubt aside. Not to mention it just doesn't look good, sort of looks like a guy skimped out on doing a high quality job even if the statement he gave is 1000% accurate.

When I was doing my cage I kept finding tubes that I didn’t get all the way around. Shit that I could have sworn that I did.
I may have him just weld it the rest of the way when he puts the window net in. I want to get it wired up and finish the plumbing. I'm getting to damn anxious now.

I get that, it just looks like he almost went all the way around, so it makes it look unfinished. I honestly didn’t even pay attention to its location or purpose when I saw it.

Your truck is looking good though. I’m excited for the day when I hear that it’s running.
