Well since I had been waiting for a while on the head gaskets from Cometic I had some questions and called them back. So now they have changed my head gasket to one I leave the O-ring in my head no receiver grove in block style. What ever that is. They claim I will have these in a couple weeks.
Head gaskets part number:
New # H1582SP2040S
Old # H2193SPBF040S
I did get the cam degreed in with help from my brother we got it very close to what they wanted. Was supposed to be on 118 we got it to 117.75 and called it a day.

Yes the joys of removing the floor pans has started. Its a work in progress. Eventually if I keep plugging away it might get there.

I feel your pain... I completely replaced all the floorpans and rockers in a 79 Blazer I restored once... it's a bitch..

They havent sent them yet. I just spoke with them yesterday. They said probably a little over a week to me. The ones I had previously spoke with them about they said I could have Jegs or Summit or whoever I ordered through call them. Just give them the number they gave me. So I had Jegs, back what a month or so ago order them. I was about to pull the orings from my heads to get ready and the discussion came up about what about the groove-. Can we leave the wire in some guys claim it works etc etc etc. So I called Cometic back directly and they said different gasket use this one and you leave the ring in your head and no receiver grove in the block. I said perfect that is what I have currently. So I ordered them directly from them while I was on the phone. I didnt know I could order strait from them before. Called Jegs back and canceled the old ones now back to waiting.

Thanks but it’s not that special and I know some that see it as junk. But its mine and I am doing what I can to have fun.
Just the 9” rear end is Ford. I put Strange axles in it. Also being the poor boy I am I got a deal on a Nodular third member and put some 4:11 gears and a full spool in it. If it holds up great. If not we will upgrade as necessary when the time comes. I don’t have Noonan or SM power or SM rearend funding. 😂

On the bright side of that Steve with noon and power you would definitely break the rear end but with SM power you would break the engine and the rear end. 😆

Im not so sure about that. I have a home built TH400 that would have to survive before id worry about that rearend. Actually I would probably bet money that the transmission would puke its guts up before the rearend. But your positive energy is duly noted and appreciated. 🤣🤣🤣
 
The Scottsale emblem is perfect, has to be orginal. Rode in quite a few Scotsdales back in the day, I haven't seen one of those in a long time
 
I work slow. I only installed my balancer and set my timing marker accurately today. Yes I know that marker is for a slightly larger diameter balancer. Its close enough we can read it. Already owned it wasn’t buying another to get it 1/4” closer.

Thanks My passenger side is solid but the driver side needs replaced or some patching. But its far better than many for sure. I really suck at all forms of bodywork and I don’t enjoy it. I will be very happy to be getting past this phase.

I am so far from paint but I keep thinking about what color and what if any stripes etc I want. I know it will be pretty much one solid color maybe a single stripe but man the paint choices are crazy. Oh well keeps my mind occupied.

ACC for carpet.
I used Greg Zoetmulder for renderings.
He wasnt cheap (600) but it was worth it to me.
