Baller 😂 76' C10 Cheap Toy

Its not time to clean yet. I'm still making the mess. All this comes out at least one more time.
Come to think of it. Can you send one of those women you keep finding that have spare time flapping their mouth. I need someone to do some cleaning. ;)
They're everywhere on the internet cuz obviously they ain't in the kitchen, laundry room, holding a vacuum or washing windows! 😆

Pulled the old v belt pulley off alternator and installed the ribbed belt pulley. Checking pulley alignment. I need to go get my crank pulley from my fab guy. I had to have some new holes drilled in the crank trigger wheel and he used my pulley for dimensions. I think the alternator needs a slight shim adjustment with no crank pulley I better hold up It could be the water pump pulley.

Not really energetic after the early start at work.

Looks like I will try and dust it off so I can save Raid some shipping charges. 🙄
Went and got my lower pulley. Looks like the crank trigger wheel is going to make
me have to do some spacing on everything. I already figured I was anyway but now I have confirmed it.
One more dirty pic for ya. 😂

I'm gonna ship him a can.
Ok I got the message. My daughter called me, dad ya got a package. Open it I said I don’t know of anything arriving today. She said its oven cleaner. I said alright I know whats up who sent it.? She said Dirty frame. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Haha no I haven’t used the oven cleaner yet.

I did spend a while working on the old gal though. A little clean up on the interior. Got the gray paint finished. Tomorrow I plan to start putting it back together.
The one picture below the back glass will get gray carpet up that wall to the bar that runs behind the seat. Also I plan to put the stock back glass back i so I didnt try to paint really close to the lexan.

Man that cage fits nice.
And should look great with all this expensive paint and supplies you sent me. 😁 These mystery boxes showing up are great. But now I’m starting to feel guilty getting stuff. This wasn’t cheap! I love it as it is something I can use but really don’t know how to repay you. Thank you very much. Oh and love the new name. 😂

The guy who did the cage is one of those anal fuckers. 😂 I say that with all the respect and admiration for his work. He is a great guy and does excellent work. Always goes the extra mile even when you say thats good if its not he wont quit till it is very good. He is a machinist by trade but stays stacked with race cars at his home shop. He has a running list you get on to have work done. It stays full.

I asked that it be tight and its like he took that as a challenge to show me what tight was I think. Everyone who has seen it in person is impressed with it.

I also chose to do inside the cab a different color and kept the cage black so it would bring some attention to it when you looked inside. It is a work of art. From the outside it is hidden very well.

Thanks again Raid for the awesome gifts.

WOAH! WOAH!

I am only responsible for the oven cleaner. I was swore to secrecy on where they came from but he's a good dude.

😳 So all the paint masking supplies, the paint and the degreaser are from someone else?

Shit there are about 10 here who had or has my address. Whoever it is you are very generous thank you sincerely.

Well in recent days I have a few small updates. Lets start with the oven cleaner. I used the entire can and hosed off the engine bay. Maybe someone will be able to view the pics without 🤮. :larf:

Also I cleaned up under where the radiator sits and put a little rust preventer on the radiator support. (no pic)

I had ordered a bolt on quick release steering hub from Jegs. This one to be exact.
GM Splined Quick Release Steering Hub Meets SFI 42.1 specs Part Number: 555-60724
This hub has a inner splined piece that bolts to the original GM column using the factory steering wheel nut. Sounds great right? Well Jegs or whoever designed it forgot you have to be able to get your fingers behind the hub to release it. So as with all racing stuff mods had to me done. I had to extend the upper steering shaft enough that I would have room to release the hub. Otherwise the splined part that bolts to your steering shaft sits down inside the outer housing of the column.

To do this I heated the upper GM steering shaft where it is held in place with that plastic allowing it to slide inside itself in the event of a collision. From the good old internet I understood it would reset and lock it back in place where ever you let it cool. That did not happen for me so it was lightly welded enough that it would hold its length and possibly break loose if it was hit hard enough. This was my fix for the height I needed to use the factory column I wanted for the blinkers etc. Now before everyone says that will spear you, you welded it solid. Please read the next part about the Jeep lower shaft mod then if ya still don't like it then scream at me. :wink2:

I did finish the Jeep lower steering shaft mod. I used this Lower Power Steering Shaft Compatible with Cherokee/Comanche/Wagoneer 1984-1994, Lower Power Steering Column Intermediate Shaft with Universal U Joint Coupler Mine was a little long and I did not want to mess with the plastic inside as I described above on the upper shaft. I wanted it to be able to crush inside itself in the event I hit something, still using its factory engineered design with plastic holding its length. So with that in mind I did not put any heat to that joint to shorten my shaft. I went to the very bottom knuckle and cut the shaft off smooth at the knuckle. Took what I needed in length off the end of that shaft and my brother welded the end back on.

Next I did the small amount of grinding on opposite sides of the upper shaft so the Jeep coupler would slide on. That steering shaft is pretty soft steel it didn't take 5 minutes to get the two flats on it. Then I installed a new Steering Shaft Bearing Kit Steering from Amazon and then the shortened Jeep shaft. Now I admit I have not driven it at all but it was obvious that mod does tighten up the steering over the factory rag joint setup. Just playing with it sitting there you can feel how much slack it took out of the steering. I guess it does look cleaner more slender or less bulky in there.

Today I got my new radiator mount panel from LMC. They didn't have any of the mounting hardware. Since I am converting this truck to the big block radiator that is taller and uses a different set of mounting bolt holes. And since this truck was obviously not a factory big block it doesn't have the threaded inserts just holes. Anyway my fab guy has one of those tools to put those threaded inserts in. I'll have to hit him up for this. I also got new Black Urethane GM Style Big Block Engine Radiator Isolators also from Amazon. These were a mistake. I should have got some from LMC or elsewhere. There were to long and so I had to trim them with a razor knife. That shit is tough to cut. Also the tits ( :larf: ) are just like a woman's nipple not like tits on the original rubber isolators that actually pulled through the hole and then swell out to hold them in place. So these suckers are falling everywhere every time you raise the cover. :ponda:

Tail lights came in and the brackets showed up the other day. Nothing lined up on the brackets except the holes for the studs on the lights. I had to section out some in the center to clear the grommets where the wires come out. Also since my bed is a 78 none of the mounting holes lined up. Had to do some trimming to shorten them. I wanted to pull the lights in tighter to the bed and set them as low as would look right. I’m ok with how they look.

I started going through my wiring harness cleaning up the wires. Trimming unnecessary wires and rewrapping with new tape where necessary. Then I installed the main fuse block and sort of laid out where things go.
