Baller 😂 76' C10 Cheap Toy

Not a lot to update but I did find out the fab guy is getting worked to death on his regular job. Recently the company/machine shop he worked for sold. He has since been promoted to the big boss position and has been doing some restructuring I gather with the help. I did hear he may have the situation on a path that cuts his schedule back down to where he can get back to working on guys cars on the side again in the near future. So that was a bit of good news.

I was looking at these breathers for my valve covers.
What's the word on them. Are they good or bad? I haven't seen but one set on a car in person. I like they are bolt on and have baffles. I can install them myself being they bolt on. And I did plan to do some cruise nights maybe a parade or just some short driving and figured the baffles may be a good thing. Oh and right now the price isn't bad at all. My only other option is probably another job for the fab guy to weld on some AN bungs old school. Which is ok but again relying on fab guy for more work isn't a good thing right now.

I have not used those, but all parts I have bought from motion have been quality.

But there are also AN fittings that are baffled and secure with a nut and o-ring. All you would have to do is drill a hole in the valve covers. I’ll see if I can find a link to the ones I’ve used before.

Dang Summit is proud of theirs. But that is a reasonable price on the Jegs ones. Thanks for the links. I actually had seen these long ago but forgot about them.
Hey did you put them in the end of the valve cover or in the top? Was wondering why some put them in the end vs the top.

I have done both. Just depended on how I wanted to route my hoses. When I had them in the top, I was used crankcase evac valves in the headers.

A couple pics of how I had my 331 last year. Just a passive system. Probably overkill for what I had.

Very nice. That looks like the Motion Raceworks is the Motion Raceworks catch can. Just realized that's their logo on top. Not a fan of logos on parts but if its really quality stuff I don't mind their reasonably sized mark, looks good. :thumbup:Seeing that makes me believe I will probably have to wait for my ProCharger to be mounted and see where I have room on that driver side valve cover. I'm sure anxious for my fab guy to get back to working in his shop after work. :larf:

By the way, for what it’s worth, I think Motion is having a sale (10%?) right now. Apparently they are also drawing names from now until thanksgiving (I think) and if they draw your name, your order is free.

Well for what its worth I have decided to start out with a methanol blow through carb. Yeah start the haters posting now. I dare one of ya to have a hair dryer on your shit. If you do ill be talking shit right back. :larf:

I figured I may as well get this out there since my carb to be built just showed up at SCS Performance Induction today. I figured it was a crap shoot to get a couple mods done to start out with. Considering I am just going to play at the track for now eventually getting it street legal and on gas. I figured for the price I had nothing to lose. It will be a Methanol carb as I wanted to just make it as simple as possible for starters. I will eventually get Fueltech most likely but I wanted to try this route for now. I'm pretty excited to try it as I am seeing a lot of big power through carbs now days without much issue.

Alright let me have it for not dropping $10k on fuel injection. :pop:

I don't see anything wrong with it at all, the carburetor will be just fine for it

While it sits on the bench! 🤠
I am debating getting the ECU and I can still use the data logging and gauges from it while I save for the injectors and coil packs. I just cant swing the whole package at once right now. Really need to wait for a year or two if it will run on a carb for just a bit. I could get so much more done with that money towards finishing up other odds and ends on the truck, trailer, and on the shop.

I was in the same boat as you when I was first doing the ProCharger combo and was going to do a blow through but then when you start factoring in all the other things that you have to buy like ignition box, data logger, etc a guy is really not that much more money getting into a decent system.
And then you have it and are done. It's always more money to try to save money up front

First pic I got of my carb being built. 🥳

Just finished up he said. I had always seen the long vent tubes on the turbo builds and I questioned them on my ProCharger build. He enlightened me and it made sense. I trust he knows what he is doing so we got long vent tubes.

Oh BTW I just spent a few minutes on the Holley tech line and have new QFT stickers coming. I should have let him powder coat it but I couldn't decide on what colors etc. so I said ya know what wont nobody be looking at that shit and that cash can go towards getting this SOB running. :lmao:
