Baller 😂 76' C10 Cheap Toy

Carb base gasket sealed
Carb spacer gasket to intake sealed
Intake manifold bolts sealed
Intake visibly sealed on top (possibly leaking on the bottom into valley)
Valve lash checked
All(2) vacuum ports checked no leaking

Just got off the phone with a different ProCharger tech. He said it should be fine as is. It needs to be under a load (in gear) and it should work perfectly.:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm: I'm a idiot for reading shit on their website. They didn’t lie they just left off the part where it should state engines with low vacuum need to be under a load to work the bov as we describe here on our website. 🤪

If the brakes were finished I would have done as @Anthony67 and probably others said and drove it. And probably would have had this figured out way sooner.
Bov will be open wacking the throttle go drive it
Thank you everyone for watching me be retarded and chase my tail for apparently no reason. 😂

Hopefully this is all it was. Either way I'm moving on like that issue is solved. Just got a few things like tying up wires inside and under the truck. Install these springs I have for the front. Put a couple more EGT probes in and go get it scaled and a baseline starting setup. None of that stuff should take to long. :p

Learnin ain't easy!

I've not been around prochargers much but seems plausible. I want one but for a project but they aren't cheap!
I got dibs if you decide to sell 😁

You will have to get in line. As soon as I got the 14/71 blower my brother and his son each became vocally interested. :ROFLMAO:

I didn't accomplish much but I worked on the old truck a little. New front rubber brake lines were installed. I had bought a set of OEM replacement lines a while back and had put them in a tote with other parts. I luckily came across them before ordering more. Not as nice as stainless ones but will work for now. Hopefully Friday I can get the brakes bled.

I also mounted the parachute. I am looking into the CO2 launcher now. I already have air on the truck and that spring bullshit and me aren't getting along at all. 🥵 I will need to cut down the tubing that holds the parachute so it will sit just a little lower. I ordered another extra for the truck that I didn't need but being I just couldn't stop myself I have a wing coming for it. 🤫 Its nothing to fancy but I think I want it so I ordered this one.

Man, I seriously dig this project. I'm being dead serious when I say that I can't wait to see some shake down pass videos.

I appreciate you and anyone else liking it. I'm not going to lie its been a long drawn out project for sure. I do feel like I can see the daylight a little though. If I would just quit changing things and adding things to it I could have been making hits years ago. Not to mention saved a fortune of cash. Oh well what's a guy gonna do work his ass off his entire life, have zero fun, then die with a pile of cash. :lmao:

Pretty crappy day starting out. My old beater car I kept around decided 330,000 miles was all she was willing to go last night. So my brother and I went and picked it up this morning. Verified one or more rods have left the proper tolerances on the crank. o_O So now in the morning we will deliver to the scrap metal yard for a whopping $350. I was quite happy to hear I would be getting that.

This evening the daughters fiancé worked the brake pedal while I bled brakes and we got the brakes finished, they work great. Also finished up mounting the parachute. I didn't drive it but I did put it in gear and I have reverse and all forward gears. The transbrake button works also. Still need to check stuff like the shifter timer/rpm stuff. Also need to check the 2 step and make sure its all working properly. I ran out of fuel so that ended playing for the day.

I suppose the biggest things left is putting my new front springs in and then the scales. A discussion this morning with the guy doing the scaling, it was decided he will bring the scales by and we can just scale it here. I thought that was cool. So might get on the springs tomorrow not sure yet but its a possibility.

That is all just wanted to share I did do something besides sit on my ass all day. :finga:

Well today there was no work done on the truck. :( :sorry:

I did get the car to the scrapper and picked up the $350. Before leaving my brother had to pick up a small kitchen table that just so happened his wife had bought that was across the street.

Then we headed to go pick up a old truck bed trailer my brother had found and traded some stuff for. We wanted this bed/trailer because it was a 1966 fleet side short bed on it. The best part was the tailgate and ends of the bed panels (taillight area) were in pretty decent shape. Although our dads 66' C10 was always a long bed we wanted to make a short bed out of it. The bed on it currently had the tailgate filled and seams welded up so we didn't have any of the hardware to put a functional tailgate back on it till now.

After loading that we got a call from a friend who lined us up on another truck that could be a potential flipper for us. Just so happened it was not far from our shop. So of course as always the original story of a around 2002 4x4 3/4 ton 4 door. Turned out to be a older OBS 3/4 ton 4 door 2wd. And worse it had the big block Vortec 8100. It did crank and run but had the driver side back door bashed in. The rest was strait and looked like it was unmolested pretty much. Bought it and drove it back to the shop. We should make a easy $1000 for fixing a pitman arm and washing it.

Then spent the next 2 hours removing the rear end from our 66' C10 as it had a bearing go out and we wanted to replace the 3:73s to put some 3:08 gears in it for highway use anyway. This just made us do it.

Came home ordered some pizza and now I have finished eating and started goofing off on here. :coffee2:

Hey believe it or not I worked on the truck today. My brother came by and we swapped out the front springs to a set of Moroso trick springs. I had already put a set in it but the way we tried installing them I ended up cutting too much off and it sat too low. This set was a different rating and they were a higher spring rate but shorter height and went right in. I have another set that I might end up trying if I dislike these. But for now I have a set that will work in it. Yay

I also got the wing I had ordered the other day. Did some mocking up and decided I did not like the spill plates that came with it. Just seemed too small. I guess since more than likely these are for cars I can understand they are likely sized for them. Anyway we did some cardboard designing and came up with something we liked a little more. Probably be a little bit before I get this all completed because I'm slow and I'm relying on a 3rd party to cut the new spill plates.

Just wanted to thank @CCSguy for making me a phantombullet bargain on this killer set American Racing Pro Series TrakStar 480R wheels. (see here on how this started) We came to a agreement this evening and I wanted to thank him publicly for these.

Upgrades for the near future. These wont be going on immediately but I am planning a better 9" rear for the truck. Then I will make it the proper width for these wheels.

Sexy bitches right there. Happy they have found a good home.

Yeah not all that faggot :limpy:looking CNC design shit all around the bead lock face. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I was on the dyno last week breaking in the motor, 5800 rpm 20% ish tps 7lbs of boost and hovering around in the idle map 😀

no load part throttle bov is open 😎
:thumbup:I haven't thought much more about it. Since the new BOV passes the vacuum test I consider it fixed. Will be at the track early March for the final verdict.

The weather turned to shit here or I would have had the truck scaled already. Shouldn't take much to let her eat. 😁

How about some pics of the whole truck? I’d like to see the stance with the new springs.
I want to get it setup first because the ass end is too high. Then the weather turned nasty here raining and not cold but cool and shitty. The guy was supposed to bring the scales over but he hasn’t made it yet.

I think the nose is still borderline low imho. I wanted to see what it was scaling like before I decided to put the taller springs in.

Hopefully this gets scaled really soon and I will try and get it out for a few pics. I promise it’s not a nice machine like you guys all have. So just be prepared for a low dollar redneck type build.

I like the truck regardless of whether it meets some high roller standard. To me, the fact it might be a little rough around the edges makes it more interesting.

My car has an Earl Shieb paint job that is probably 15 years old. It’s a total fucking turd on the outside. Both rocker panels have dents where some previous jackass likely tried to use a floor jack.

Like you’ve said before, I don’t care because it’s mine!

A little rough around the edges you say? :wissl: Are you on the right thread? 👀 Man this thing is not a looker as she sits. My attempt at making one slick has never worked out well. I have always considered the performance as my measuring stick. As long as I felt my shit box was doing more than what was expected by me, from my country ass, I figured I might get a little forgiveness on the rest. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

That is interesting I didn’t ever think your car had a dent. Damn you now I have to consider another color since yours hides dents so good, 😊

And who is this Earl Shieb he obviously iis a magician with that paint gun. The best we got around here is Maaco and he just sprays and sprays whatever without a care in the world from what I understand, that includes dents, plastic trim, molding, dirt, etc. 🤣

I'm not embarrassed by it just want it to be right mechanically so it looks sexy as @CCSguy says. 🤪 Anyone looking for show stuff as in no dents, even body lines, slick highly polished paint is gonna be disappointed. But I will post up some pics and maybe a quick video once its sitting right. ;)

I went back to the start of this thread last night and said holy fuck, he started this in 2021. Maybe I’m wrong, but you are almost at the finish line!

Edit: My car has ZERO clear coat, dents on both rockers, small dings all over, gel coat unpainted hood. Gel coated unpainted hatch, fucked up quarter window moulding. White bumper that I painted over with flat black. It’s pretty rough lol

Yeah I know its been a few days since I started. :larf: Funny I said, "This might take a few months. Hope no one is in a hurry for posts and pics. We work in our spare time as $ allows." At the time I had a brand new complete long block on a engine stand and we were just gonna use it and do a simple PG with a 9" rear. A simple little cage and go spray some juice for fun. Great plan not a massive sinkhole of $ and we get to play.

Then at some point I lost my ever loving mind and completely changed direction. As seen post #58. I blame @Raidmagic because had he just stole my money I would never had this ProCharger. I don't know if I should thank him or not sometimes. ;) Now I'm mad at @CCSguy for making me a deal I couldn't refuse on wheels I cant even bolt on yet. :sneaky:

Your build thread you did some of the same shit and I suppose many do. @DHR Darren Darren went from ProCharger to :limpy:hairdryers, you went from one transmission to another, and more like the shifter change. That isn't to mention all the BS just like you went through on the engine builder and the stupidsystem carb. Seems like its always something dragging it out. I feel like some times I get something done and 2 weeks later I am completely un satisfied and want to rip the shit out and start over. I did that with my wiring actually. And want to do it again but keep telling myself don't touch it move on.

I am getting close though and it will see the track this 2026 season come hell or high water. Ill drag that SOB down it with a tow rope if I have to.
