Baller 😂 76' C10 Cheap Toy

Well its finally happening. My fab guy said bring it tomorrow afternoon. 🥳 So I loaded it up today and after work tomorrow I'm headed to drop the truck off. The list to be completed is not very long.

Mandatory list
  • Front Strut Bars (through the firewall)
  • ProCharger mounting bracket
  • ProCharger blow off valve mount on intake pipe
  • Some header or steering shaft work to clear steering
  • Parachute mount including release inside
  • Window net mount
  • Tig oil fill to Valve Covers
Hopefully the price isn't a killer for having this all done. Id like to not have to get in line again for a while anyway. 😂

That's all for now. 😛

Hey guys the truck is in getting the attention it needs. Its been dropped off so I am just waiting for him now.

But today my brother scored me this MSD 8Plus box in some trading. Does anyone know of a simple way to test it? The old 6al boxes there was a way to test but I forgot its been 30years ago. I am looking around on the internet to see if anyone knows. I figured if it is bad I could send it in to be repaired maybe? Anyone know what they charge to go through them? This damn thing is $1947.95 new!!!

In a follow up to my post above I found this on Holley documents.
9. How can I test an MSD ignition to see if it is working? Checking for spark output of your MSD is easy. Following is a simple procedure for testing your MSD for spark.
1.Turn the ignition switch “OFF”.
2. Remove the coil wire from the distributor cap and place it 1/2” from ground. DO NOT CRANK OVER THE ENGINE. When you continue with this test, a high voltage spark will jump this 1/2” gap so make sure there is no fuel or flammable mixtures near the plug wire end.
3. If triggering with the Magnetic Pickup (Green and Violet):A. Disconnect the magnetic trigger wires from the MSD. Turn the Ignition Switch “On”. DO NOT CRANK OVERTHE ENGINE. B. Use a paper clip or jumper wire to short the Green and Violet wires going to the MSD together several times. A spark should jump the gap every time the wires are shorted.
4. If triggering with the White wire (points/amplifier): A. Disconnect the White wire of the MSD from the distributor trigger or ignition amplifier. Turn the Ignition Switch “On”. DO NOT CRANK OVER THE ENGINE.B. Tap the White MSD wire to ground several times. A spark should jump the gap as you do this.

5. If there is no spark, substitute another ignition coil and repeat the test. If there is now spark, the coil is at fault. If there is still no spark it is possible that the MSD Ignition needs to be serviced. If the warranty period is over, MSD offers repairs at nominal fees.

He did all that work in a month? What? Are you his only customer? Take care. Tom Worthington
Pretty much, when he gets to you, yeah you are his only customer. He keeps a running list and you don't bring your shit till he notifies you to. This way your shit isn't taking up space in his shop and you aren't without your ride for long periods of time. I waited for a long time to get my truck in. Everyone waits a long time to get in to him. Once he has your ride its pretty much top priority. He has a full time job, is super picky, extremely good, and has a family. So it still takes a while as he does this in his spare time.

I already told him to put me back on his list. I was going to have him build me a set of zoomies. We hadn't discussed that so he hadn't set aside enough time to do that this time. No big deal as I have headers I can start with. But I would imagine it will be this winter when that happens.

Have you heard how loud a procharged big block is? 🤣
Many times its one thing that attracted me to them. I cant afford a TF engine I had to do the poor boy version. 😂 😂 😂
My street driving was never going to be a hour long drive. Mine was just to cruise to the Sonic drive in maybe to the carwash hangout a parade or car show or a short cruise for a benefit like toys for tots. Also I wanted to fit in the "street" classes. 😉

Saw your other thread. Is it running now? :D
Waiting on t clamps I don’t think those boots will hold on their own. :larf:

Seriously I did some work on it just not there yet.
I mounted the fuel cell. Got some metal and made a place to mount a fuel pump. Just to get it going I have this Magnafuel 750 pump that should get me started.

Started trying to figure out the hose clamps :lmao: er I mean the fittings I need. Ordered some more of them yesterday. Im sure I will need more I seem to ordered the wrong ones occasionally. Even worse by the time they get here I will have changed how I was going to plumb it. Happens way to often sadly.

I acquired some headers to see if they were going to work. The ones I thought I could make work just got worse the more I tried. Anyway these clear the steering a lot better.

Just doing what I can when I have time.

Picked up my TH400 I was going to build it but took it to a professional shop. My brother has known the guy and he took care of it.

Stopped by Smiley's Racing and got a barrel of fuel on the way home.

I think you are ahead of me. Yours is way nicer even if you aren't. I'm just trying to have a little fun. 👊
Nice is just in the eye of the beholder man. I'm happy for you but I'm also proud of you for sticking with it and cranking through the project! These things aren't easy because if they were everybody would do it
