***Post a MEME Thread***

I have wondered why someone hasn't tried to change the measurement of time to metric.

Let me know when Europe builds something with their fucking metric system that doesn't spend most of it's life in the shop.

Aside from which, it can be a 4.026 piston or can be a 102.2604 mm piston. As long as it fits in the fucking hole, who gives a fuck what you call it?

A few things come to mind:
The steam engine and jet engine.
The cavity magnetron which American military experts regarded as the "most valuable cargo ever to reach American shores".
General Groves, who hated the Brits, remarked that, without the British contribution, there would have been no Hiroshima.
Colossus knocked 18 months off WW2.
Going back a bit further, the guillotine works a lot better than the needle or chair.
The moon landings owe a bit to the Germans.
Rolls Royce and Aston Martin.
The P51 Mustang started off with a lawnmower engine but the Brits put in a Rolls Royce Merlin and turned it into one of the best fighters of WW2.
