Scrapping Kinda Sucks

Never knew there were different licenses for scrap yards
Here in Michigan there are so many types of licensee's, they include new and used car sales in them, it's literally goes A-Z

Except politicians and judges, they don't have to get a license to be selected into their positions.

Tore apart 80 or so, this is the pile from the first 60ish. Figured out what ones take 2-3 min to tear down and what ones have copper motors(5-10mins). Don't think it's worth it but meh, if things are slow(got room for the trash) I'll still grab em and if i got plenty to do I'll just clip the cord. Fan made it not bad(also got that free). Most the trash is gone, guy had room in his dumpster. I'll get rid of rest soon enough. Always plenty of trash scrapping :ROFLMAO:

[edit] Earlier in spring when i was organizing, long before my complaint. Figured out what i could quickly remove, most of them i brought home whole but then/now i know what to take off n toss in their can. Again, not my best time spent but it's easy.

Does not surprise me. I'm still waiting for the shoe lace inspector check points to pop up :ROFLMAO:
The ATF regulates shoe laces

"In the early 2000s, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) issued a ruling that classified a 14-inch shoestring as a machine gun under specific circumstances. This determination was based on the fact that a string could be utilized as a device to modify a semi-automatic rifle, allowing it to fire more than one shot with a single pull of a trigger mechanism. The ATF clarified in 2007 that a shoelace itself is not inherently a machine gun, but it becomes classified as one when it is attached to a firearm in a way that enables rapid, continuous fire. Under federal law, a machine gun is defined as any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger."

Holy crap, dude. That's a lot of vacuum cleaners! 🤯
It took me a couple minutes to figure out what they actually were.

Funny thing is, about 10+ish carpet cleaners made the same size pile and that pic is 60 or so vacs.

Was just getting up the motivation to get out of bed, when i herd a possible truck. Yup guy picking up dumpster across the street. So pissed and thru on some cloths and ran over, to see if i could dump some more plastic. Guy said np, so i went back n grabbed the two old normal size trash cans, slung one over my back and the other rolled. Rain water spilled/poured down my neck and back but got em over n dumped. Then after i thx him n asked if he had time for a bit more, as i saw he was still doing stuff and he said that he wasn't in a rush. So went back grabbed my truck keys and the two XL totes, plus a couple other large pieces n drove over. He helped me dump those two XL long totes. Thanked him again and gave him a large 12" flat tip screwdriver i just found the last time out(Monday). It was still siting on my tailgate, since i had not fully unloaded yet. Other than what's in my normal trash can for this weeks pick-up, it's all gone. Good start to the day
🙂

I switched sawzall blades on a recommendation from a dude on FB group I read.

The brand name is Diablo, and they kick ass. I cut like 25 tires/wheels this morning with one blade. There's still teeth on it, so I can continue to use it. These blades were cheaper than the Milwaukee Torch blades I have been using. Next time you guys need blades look for them. Just a fyi, you (probably) won't find them in big box stores.. Mom and Pops is who usually sells them according the the FB dude. I bought them from a local chain called RP Lumber.

Only blades i use, if i can and Home Depot has them around here. First time I tried them, was like man these rock! Cutting up tires(free disposal if cut in half, long ago) i broke idk how many cheap HF blades. Wish i had just bought a couple of the Diablo ones.

They make even better Diablo blades these days, carbon teeth or w/e

The blades are thicker, cheap ones bend easy or the mount tab breaks off. And the heavy red coating acts as a sacrificial lubricant, to help with the blade getting stuck or too hot and weak/bending easier. At least that's what i noticed after starting to use them for all kinds of stuff. Plus they have really long options. I bought several carbide to cut up a parts car(still also use other cutting tools).

If i have a difficult job that i know will dmg the blade, then I'll buy some mid tier other brand blades. I use the Diablo blades for trees, plastic, fiberglass and all type of metal.

Today was payday.
Wheels are down $0.03 to $1.52/lb.

33 wheels. (lots of heavy)
900 Lbs.
$1368 cash money.

I have a set left that I couldn't bring myself to cut.
Subaru WRX stocks with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Wheels are mint, charcoal gray.
Tires aren't cracked, and have tons of life left.
I put them on MP for $400 obo. (probably too much  )
I paid $70 for the set.

If you were closer I'd come pick those up

Been trying for over 2weeks to get someone to help me move some shit. Pay them or trade BUT reasonable! Not $50hr and the guy shows up hours late and don't take directions. I'm not trading 2-3hrs of slow pace labor, for porting someone's heads or something well worth more than the cost of the $50hr guy.

Some are understandably too busy with work and some just wanna dick me around because they are dicks.

I wish we had Mexicans at Home Depot, tho I prefer someone i kinda know or highly recommended, no crackheads.

No that isn't too much, there are just a bunch of cheap bastards out there.

, i thought those had a Ford emblem on them.I have my daughter's old '14 fusion with the 19" titanium rims and they are all scraped up. I have a brand new set of tires to go on them but looking at maybe blasting them in the cabinet and just smoothing and repainting them with dupont wheel paint. IDK. I'm not spending $1200+ to swap them with replacements however, to get scraped up again. For some reason that car loves curbs , i did it twice myself trying to pull up to the credit card reader at the car wash.

You ever come across some chrome 16" 96-97 Lincoln Towncar window wheels I may need on for my '97 Cartier. Just the center caps for those are running over $150ea. all beat to shit if you can find them. I have a new set of whitewalls to go on mine but think I have a tweaked rim in the rear.I can't picture that car with anything else on them. I had signed the car over to my FIL for a few years, he needed something my MiL could get in and out and I think he or his driver whacked a curb with it. I knew the tire blew out when it happened.
