Scrapping Kinda Sucks

This is the arbor on mine, and there is a very small hole in the center. It is about the size of a pencil tip. I'm not sure is anything can be screwed in it. I certainly can't see any threads.

and, yes.. My camera is in fact a potato. :)

Yup that should work for 5 or 6 in cut off .
You have me thinking of getting a face book just for market place im going to have my son look and see how many rims a listed on there.
It sound like you have a good thing going clearing good money after the investment

Thanks. The 4.5s last a good while, but I'm getting sick of changing the blade when it's not even worn out. All I want to do is keep working. When the blade is worn, the damn clasp that holds the guard hits the wheels and I can't cut as deep unless I replace the blade. I hope that makes sense.

And, yes! Start a FB, get on MP, and make some deals. The deals, and more importantly, the money, is out there to be had. You just gotta go make it happen. Sure, you'll have to put out money up front and do some driving, but the juice is definitely worth the squeeze.

It's nice not having to be somewhere. It's especially nice not dealing with lazy bum crackhead employees. When I lost my job (building closed) a few months ago I swore I'd do whatever it takes to not work a normal job again. So far it's working out great.

I just returned from a pick, and it's my most successful so far. I went for four Dodge 18' truck wheels ($50).. Then the guy asked if I wanted those, and he pointed at 8 crusty GM truck wheels stacked in the corner. Of course I said yes and offered $40. He took it. I know the Dodge wheels are at least 25 lbs. each, and the GM trucks are at least 22 lbs.

276 lbs.
Scrap value $405
Money out $90
Profit $315

Not bad for 45 minutes 'work'. :)

This is what I have waiting for me behind the house. 40 tires that I have to cut.
dscf0038-copy-jpg.786912

There are 8 bare wheels behind them that you can't see.
Plus the 12 still in the truck.
60 total this week so far, and the week is still young.

What a shitshow. I'm too old for this shit, I need a garage and a tire machine.

I *think* I cut 48 tires today, I kinda lost track.
Three trips to the scrap tire drop off spot.
Everything is stacked and ready to go on Tuesday.
I have 68 wheels next to the house ready to go.
Gonna try n get more before then, fingers crossed.
No matter what, I'm making two yard trips Tuesday.
It's Miller time.

Have figured out the ez way to remove tires yet
The way I do it is easy, but when you're (me) doing 40+ at once it tends to hurt a bit. I have blisters on my trigger and middles fingers from the vibration of the sawzall. I went through a pair of brand new pair of heavy duty gloves doing today's processing.

My chick added up the lbs. so far for this week. I'm at 1,622 lbs. (the wheels beside my house)
I need one more deal to beat my last week's record of 1,740 lbs.

I always want to do better. It's just the way I am.

My truck is gaining weight, needs to go on a diet  Gained 80lbs overnight.

Thurs i had to go buy some stuff near one scrap yard i go to. 600lbs for $60, looks like shred is going back up :) Tried to call Flint yard i go to see if they are as well but they won't answer their phone.

Anyways my normal low fuel empty weight is 4860lb. Yard i went to this week sometimes 4880 BUT Thurs it was 4900(I still had 2 small pieces of wood, a small grill plastic shelf, large empty sunflower seed bag, small 1 gal fuel can with 1/3 gal that i got on the drive in and 7' steel conduit pipe i saved. So makes sense i was bout 20lbs heavier.

Drove home and started to load up for the next day. Friday after loading up, i drove straight to the scrap yard. Didn't stop for fuel or anything else. Completely empty(none of that other shit in my bed and less fuel than the day before) truck was 4960lb.

Thurs my load weight seemed right, mostly bulky large items that i just tossed in for that quick run and some stuff i never unloaded. But Friday my estimate was a bit off and less than i expected. I packed it in good for that run. Loaded up inside the two ovens, even their bottom drawers. Stacked a lot of stuff vertical, to fit more. Not my biggest load but it seemed well enough.

Herd one of the workers talking bout German something on phone bout scale. So my guess is they know they have a problem. And we aren't talking big $$$, it was only shred. So prob best to avoid that yard for a bit.

Not hating just fyi but might be a good idea to pace yourself. Or set a max for the day.

Almost forgot LOL the guy unloading next to me. His trailer had a mysterious leaky frame, some peeps :ROFLMAO:

It was a tilt bed but still it seemed to drain the entire time and as i left LOL

Shame i like that yard cause it's less busy. Only me unloading usually and sometimes just another. Other yard i go to in Flint, is a shit show! Small and almost always steady with people dumping shred scrap. Sometimes up to 6 at once. Then the parking at the office is crammed with the non ferrous peeps.

It's funny cause the slow yard, they kinda act like they are getting their asses kicked but i never once seen them busy :ROFLMAO: Still maybe i just always miss their rush?

So today was payday since the yard was closed Monday for holiday.

76 wheels.
2 trips to the yard.
1,820 lbs. (new best)
$2,675 cash money. 🤑

I'm having trouble finding deals right now.
My chick says I already bought everything.

Between the holiday, and not really working today (went to lunch with my Pop), I'm behind. I'll likely be up all night looking at MP. I only have three wheels for the new week so far.
