I actually used to shave my chow dog this way…

Lion cut… left bobs on her paws and tail, shaved her body and left a mane… was cooler for her in the summer… 😎👍

Mine was pure black … she was a very cool dog..
funniest thing was,, the day I would shave her and clean her up,, I’d bring her back in from the garage and the other male dog would perk up his ears get this wild look in his eyes and try to hump her… 🤣🤣🤣🤣

She wasn’t havin’ any of that shit from him… 😳🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
 
I have a 2 year old long haired black cat with no tail. This past spring I felt bad for him because he had so much matting on his belly fur. So I got him a belly shave, they shaved his bottom half and trimmed his top half. Let me tell you he was so affectionate for the next several days! Really helped him stay cool through the summer. It's about all grown back now so he will have his full coat for winter. I will do it again next spring.
