One of the upgrades on my list for the off season on our dragster is going to a double beadlock rear wheel. New 15x14 beadlock rims are about 1500.00-1800.00 a wheel. I have been doing a lot a research and came across this company that will double bead lock my existing weld wheels for 600.00 a wheel . I would also have them powder coat them for 150.00 each. Has anyone had any experience dealing with them?
Enclosed is a link to a video showing the process and a link to their website.

MacFab has been around for a while as a company. Lyle Barnett and family bought a few years back.
I know someone who had there rims beadlocked at an event. No issues.

Your video is better but check out turbojohn on YT. Sort of the same vid but if you want more to watch.

It's definitely a money saver.
I paid $600 for new front and rear Weldlites on my Chevelle years ago. Can't even buy 2 rims for that now!

I have a friend that goes 7.2's @ 180+ in one of his dragsters. He is taking the beadlocks off and going back to a regular wheel, says the weight just isn't worth it.

That was one of the questions I had in my mind . The added rotating weight. It may equal out to what I have now as I also would like to go to a M/T tire that weighs less then what I am running now.Still researching.

If you dont need a beadlock imo a screw wheel will be faster unless you buy deltas..
i like the looks of beadlocks, and the tire i ran with my gto was the pro stock tire and they foofoo screws.
My roadster i broke in tires for V
Id run his mounted on deltas, then switch to my normal non delta id slow down .03
so the weight matters

Good info. thanks. I like the looks of the bead lock as well, but am mindful of e/t and trying to gain a couple thou.

for the record, i like beadlocks and for the .02-.04 they slow you down, id run beadlocks unless i was heads up.

Good info here. Thanks for sharing the info guys.

I was actually going with screws because I did back in the 90s and never had an issue and I'm poor. But I wish I could get some fancy wheels and have the bead locks I like the look also. :sad2:
I have a set of 15x12 American Racing wheels. I don’t remember who did the beadlocks, I bought them already done. If that’s close to what you need, I can get you all the specs. I know they are 4 3/4” bc. I bought them for my Z28 ODR car that I sold and they are too wide for my S-10. I will be happy to give you the PB discount. I would like them gone for a fellow member without dealing with fucktards.

Lyle is a top shelf human, and i know a ton of people have had him do them with no issues.
I can 100% recommend him
I've had a half a dozen sets from them myself and always good quality. That was before Barnett purchased it though.

If they are 3-in backspace and he is not interested I will take them.

I got you brother. I will get them down and get some measurement. You will know, is it Orb or something close? That’s who did them. I bought them from James Lawrence. You know the car.

OMF

I wonder whatever happened to James Lawrence? He was rolling big for quite a while there and I think he's still owns the media corporations that own dragzine and the others

Correct, OMF. Not sure on James. You know Shortridge’s? They bought my car and put a single turbo sbc in it and ran 4.50’s when that was impressive.

I would love some, yes I'm interested. If you want to shoot me a pic or two, some specs, and that extremely poor PB discount price. :larf: I can make a pretty quick decision one way or another so you can work a deal with @DHR Darren if I decline.
